To add to what others have said, the DC engine has about 100 more cubic inches of displacement. The rear axles are different diameters, so only the rims will interchange.

About the only thing you can interchange are the headlights and the spark plugs :>). They did put a few DC's out with the 10"rear rims.

Seriously, you can exchange the fenders, tool box, seat, and on the late models, the eagle hitch parts. mechanicaly (engine, clutch and transmission) they are completely different.

You are right TED . The 38''rear wheels are also interchangeable,of course they will also fit a M or H IHC,or a JD model A ,and many More ! ,,,Sometimes I marvel at the backwardness of the SC .On This farm ,My 42and 47 SC has the clutch lever on the right , All 4 DC's are clutching from the left,AS most folks will agree ,,Not too good when you are used to one and hop on another at the end of a long day and find yourself dropping the front end in a new sinkhole ,or brake turn sliding near a creekbank...And the different Shift pattern !,GOLLY,!The tractors sit and handle so much alike . ,I just wonder why if the tranny looks so close to cousins ,Why did they not share the same , and cut production costs , I would bet there is not a hundred lb's difference in casting weight between the two ?, . In all due respect CASE Did exactly that in later yellow models . I KNOW , LEON CLAUSEN wanted the SC tractor to be different and beloved !.. And the VAC became a red headed step child< with Quite a Temperment I might ADD > .Forgive me SC Lovers , but this dependable lady is not my Favorite.Just nothing there . My 49 VAC has got MORE GAUL And Spirit than any SC here , And I could bet It would take 2 of my SC's to match power with the 54 DC. . Sorry , JUST rambling .. Jim
