I rebuilt a converter 2 years ago, & now it doesn't grind. I was totally surprised. I'm sure as it wears in, it may start to grind. But, what we do, is start them in gear, & don't hesitate between shifts to avoid the grinding. The tractor shouldn't start moving until you throttle up.

Ummm, I think all 411b's had COM transmission which means they are designed to slip until you flip the lever on the left side of the steering column into direct drive. Before you drain any oil make sure you check the dip stick on the right side of the transmission housing for fluid level in the COM unit. This tractor does not have a standard clutch but a torque converter and it is very normal for them to grind when being put into gear. Idle down the engine and then depress the clutch, wait a moment and then try shifting. As to pressure, don't trust the original gauge. Get a service manual or an IT manual and follow the instructions. You may not have a problem. LOL!

Hi. Yes 411B is C-O-M, only way they came. It is twin to 311B. It is nature of C-O-M to grind gears. Something about they don't completely stop turning when you push clutch down. They take off a little slow, might seem like slipping to someone not used to it. Camboted told you right. Hope this helps. Charley.
