Two man job to lift off pto housing! Screw in some long studs [2] for alignment when putting back on. Housing is clumsy and heavy.

I have had the PTO bonded plates come apart and they plug the suction screen. Usually you can find some red fuzzy material in the filter housing as the PTO plate that fail are the ones with red lining. We remove the PTO housing and use a blow nozzle modified with a long 3/16 brake line attached. Bend a 180 degree loop on the end and you can blow out 99% of the contamination.

Seems that most think that there is a screen up in the tractor somewhere that is stopped up.If I can get the pto housing off without a crane or breaking my back I guess that the first thing to try.If I can blow the screen out like you said at least thats better than splitting it. Thanks bjp2

Sounds like the suction screen is plugged and that's why after stops for awhile it will move again (what happens is the trash on the under side of the screen will fall off and let it suck oil until the trash gets back on it again). It CAN be cleaned without splitting tractor.Email me and I'll tell you how.

430LP Is it a secret? How do you clean suction screen? Hope it"s not as kinky as dating a 2 bottom plow!

To clean the suction screen(icecream cone shaped) you will need to drain the oil, then remove to gear selector cover on the right side in front of the axle, remove the pto, jack the front of the tractor a foot or so,get a blowgun that you can add a 1/4" copper (copper mainly cause it bends easy)tube to then you reach through the gear shift hole and (BECAREFUL NOT TO TEAR THE SCREEN, IT IS PLASTIC) blow the trash off and bend a 90 in the tube and blow out the other side , then you need a pumpup garden sprayer and put diesel in it and wash the trash out the pto opening.WASH OUT ALL THE TRASH YOU CAN SEE AND YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES. NEXT you need to find the source of the trash usually(RED) it's the PTO clutch facings,BUT sometimes it's the BRAKE facings-Big job

I took the charge pump out it looks fine. The key isn't broken. It began last year while disking every now and then it would just stop pulling.I would shut the engine off wait about 30 seconds, start it back up and it would be fine for awhile. It got to doing this moe often and finally got to where it will hardly move. You have to start it move a few feet then it quits pulling.shut it off restart it and move a few more feet. That's what I did to get it to the barn. Thanks
