Hooked a guys 1934 CC to my dyno last weekend. Governor response was terrible! No load it was running about 560 @ PTO but I could pull it down to 350 and it still would only open the throttle about 1/4th of the way.

I looked up the CC in my old IT book (an old hard bound volume covering many colors of tractors) and it lists NOTHING about adjusting the governor arm or carburetor linkage. I'd like to help this guy and if it was MY tractor, I'd bend the lever arm until the governor to carb rod is maybe 1/8th" too long to drop into the carb lever with the governor at full throttle and the carb held WOT. The CC's arangement is much like the Allis C & CA and this is basically how they're adjusted. I admit I'm guessing here.

Being that it's not my tractor and the only books I have don't tell me otherwise, I thought I'd seek the advice of higher authorities, you guys!

It's well cared for, painted up nice, starts and runs great in parades perking along nice and smooth but will only pull the hat off yer head if you give it a running start!

What advice have you for me and the old CC?

Get yourself a dc service manual and follow the instructions for govner and throttle adjustments, and you should get it adjusted, the fingers on the arm may not be touching the brg.in the govner, had the same problem on my 1937 cc,DCDENNIS

Hmmmm. I don't know if the lack of replies is a vote of confidence or something to be afraid of!

Later.
