I've seen here that you can check the hyd/trans fluid in a 530 (its a row crop) "on the right side under the fuel tank". I did not see one there or anywere else. I did see a couple "breather" looking caps, on on the left and one directly under the fuel tank. Would it be under one of them? Thanks.

The dip stick on mine is a large hex headed "bolt" under the fuel tank. Just loosen it off and there you have your dipstick.

I have a problem with mine, hydraulic fluid comes out of the gearshift boot. any suggestions as to cauze?

If oil is coming out the gear shift boot, you have too much oil in there. Either you poured it in or it could be leaking in from the triple range transmission. Those seals around the shafts running from the front to back transmissions will develop leaks and allow hydraulic oil to run back into the rear transmission and it will get too full. You could keep letting oil out and adding hydraulic oil if you don't want to fix it. It is kind of an ordeal to replace those seals.

Thanks for the information guys.
Your replys were as I suspected.
I checked breather, and cleaned it but it seemed ok.
The fluid level is high, low in dual range transmision. I just bought the tractor and this happened as I was driving it home.
I will drain rear transmision down to an acceptable level and see what happens.

You might check the 3 point seals, if they are leaking that will also allow trans/hydraulic in the rear-end. Hook up something real heavy and leave it up overnight, if it goes down you probably have a 3pt. leak. Are you having any brake problems? My dad had the same problem with his 630 and couldn't keep brakes on it. I don't know if its because the trans/hydr is so much thinner than the 90wt. and the seals were not able to hold it or what the deal was?

Both of the 430's we have around here played that trick .The 1st time we were perplexed , ,Does this sound like your problem ? The trans mission fluid is too full ,and your front hydro 30 weight area keeps losing fluid to somewhere ? For me the culprit both times was the 3 pt lift arm ram seals .Since the ram is located directly over the tranny reservoir .These rascals would dump a little bit of oil into the tranny each time you raised or lowered the lift arms . Remove your seat plate cover and all Case I H dealers should have a seal kit on the shelf ..Hope this helps ,,, JIM

Hi
Thanks for that info also.
I have not actually used the 3 point, but I will hook something up and see what transpires.
The brakes are great.
You wouldn't know where I could get a couple of chrome strips for the hood, and a battery cover would you?
The rest of the tractor is in good shape, tin is perfect, so I want to give it a paint job, and make it look "pretty".
I also have a 930 which I have fixed up.
I am kinda partial to the "30" series.

Is your breather vent plugged? No vent in the transmission will cause the case to pressurize when it gets hot and the oil will try to find its way out anywhere it can.
