I just "dropped in" on this forum (am usually on the JD forum) and found the very interesting topic of Case dealers. Do you have Cando Sales and Service of Cando, ND? They had Case and Chevrolet in the 40s, 50s, and 60s and maybe before and after that. Dad bought his cars and trucks from them and also a Case model 832 tractor. The tractor salesman"s name was Julian Bowersox, I remember being there when that Case
was purchased as clearly as if it was yesterday!
On a more sober note, a good friend of mine (also named Don Rudolph) passed away earlier this summer, but he was a Ford tractor man.

I did not have this dealer. Thank you for forwarding it along with the additional information. Sorry to hear about your friend. Just a little sidenote: I was heartbroken when my Dad bought a Ford 2000 instead of a Case 430 in 1964 when I was 10. We just sold that Ford 3 years ago. Don

I'm curious as to your area of the country. I'm in southern MN. Last Saturday I attended the LCPPS and the featured tractors were Case. The big 830 and 930 Western Specials are my favorites. The styling on those is just plain the best I've ever seen on a farm tractor and I've been around over 60 years. And the sound of those engines (especially the 6 cylinder models) when under full load is pure sweet music to my ears!

I am from NE WI on the peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan known as Door County. As a child, I remember watching Case DO's from my front porch as they were spraying up and down the rows of cherry and apple trees next to our dairy farm. Our big tractor at the time was a Case D that my Dad put me on at the age of 4 to drive the hay baler while he stacked on the wagon. We have been a Case family ever since 1946(except for the Ford). In the mid 60's Case got rid of all their older, smaller dealerships, but we continued to use Case tractors anyway, which was kind of rare in our area. I am currently restoring my Dad's D along with a DCS hi-crop. I like all Case tractors, but my favorite is probably our 500 or 600 with that smooth 6 cylinder engine with unlimited torque. I guess these old Cases allow me to relive my childhood on a daily basis. Don

We vacationed in Door County, WI just a year ago. Wish I had known about your Cases, I"d have tried to stop to see them.

If you are ever in this area feel free to contact me. I must warn you though that most of our antique Case tractors are unrestored and many are still used daily on the farm. As my son has stated "If this was 1957 we sure would be proud of these old Case tractors!" To which I add "And worried about how to make the next payment!" Don
