I went and looked at a 400 Case diesel row crop today. Narrow front, factory power steering, 3 point Eagle Hitch. Fairly straight tractor with poor original paint except one fender is missing and the other is rotted. Doesn't look to have been abused except that one head has been just replaced and I noticed it had a ether kit installed. Brand new 14.9 x 38 Good Year tires on the rear and the front are good used but are on oversized on newer/wider rims because it had a loader on it at one time.

Serial number from block is 8084685. I could not see a tag anywhere. What year is it?

The guy wants $1500 for it. How much should it be worth?

Thanks

Seems like a good price to me. I gave $1,600 for my Case 300 gas and the rear tires were worn out and it ran but needed engine work.

If it runs...I'd think that was pretty darn reasonable.

I don"t know about the row crop version, but I"ve got a wide front 401 diesel which is a very good tractor. With the good tires on the one you"re looking at, I don"t think price is out of line unless it has a major problem you"ve missed. But I don"t know what you plan to do with the tractor. I use mine.

An ether injector was factory equipment.
