On a 570 gas with an alternator (negative ground), what causes the positive terminal on the battery to corrode up massively. I've cleaned the connections a couple times and in a short while, it's all covered in fuzzy stuff again.
The tractor always starts and runs fine in spite of it, but the corrosion is eating the paint where it runs down the side of the tractor.
Is there something else going on besides a poor connection that will cause this ?

When a battery post constantly corrodes, the seal between the lead post and the top of the battery is broken, those little fuzzy washers help, but in this case, I'd replace the battery, its going to cause nothing but grief. Never drive a battery clamp onto a post, and never twist a clamp trying to remove it from the post, get one of those clamp pullers. some brands of batteries are more fragile in this area than others.
