Hi all I have been having trouble finding one all the parts stores can't find or cross over the old one. The one I tool off is a prestolite with 3 terminals I don't know if this is the original or not? It has the 148 gas motor. Is there a new type or Aftermarket that works any help if greatful Thanks Dave

The voltage regulator needs to be matched to what ever generator you have. An automotive electric shop should be able to tell you what regulators will work if you give them the number off your generator.

any 6 volt regulator can be wired to work as long as they ground the same...ie: postive ground or negative ground...my best advice to ya is check with someone that rebuilds generators/starters [not just sells]and they should be able to sell you the correct regulator.
