I just received a Case model L Ser # 320287. Is this a 1938 or later? DCTom, do you have any history on this tractor?

The engine is stuck and I was told to fill the cylinders with WD40 to loosen them up. It seems I read on this site about other products that might be better. Are there better products and is there a process to follow so I don"t do any other damage?

Thanks for any help
Dave

By using the tried and true serial number formula, your L is a 1929. Is the serial number plate riveted to the toolbox, or on the right side of the radiator bolster?

There are tons of formulas for freeing up a stuck engine. I've had decent luck with diesel fuel and kerosene, Marvel Mystery Oil, Kroil, PB Blaster, etc.

Post some pics here as you go. Be nice to watch your progress.

Serial Number tag is on the Radiator.

Then your tractor is a 1929. That would be the first year they were built. It shuld also have a flat pulley for the fan / water pump, instead of a V-belt.
