Hi guys:
We've just rebuilt a David Brown 990A and have discovered that the hitch doesn't lift. It feels like it wants to, but it barely moves. Being new to this type of tractor, we don't know if it is our inexperience with the adjustments, or if there is a real problem with it. Any info would be helpful and greatly appreciated..... and the sooner the better! We've been working on this thing since last year, and we're anxious to put it to work, not to mention that we're just plain tired!!!

Thanks in advance.

Paul

I don't know if the David Brown has a similar system to the 430 Case, but I had the same problem the other day. Check to see if there is a hose running from the control valve to the top of hte transmission. If there is one, it may have a banjo type fitting that is not lined up right. Mine had gotten kicked around and would not go up or down. The banjo bolt has to line up perfectly with the hose end to allow fluid to flow.

i'm new to David Brown tractors but in doing research on a similar prob on my 885 i think you need to bleed your hydraulics per manual...its a pretty long drawn out procedure...the IT 203 manual has all the info.
