Under the metal cover on the right side of the DOM valve, there are two valves and a check ball and spring. In the raising spool, the rear one, there is a tapered valve that lets oil push out the plunger to raise the 3 point. Take the raising spool out of the valve housing, remove the plunger from the raising spool, about 1/2 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch long. Then you will see a plug with a screwdriver slot. This is the lock screw, remove it. Under that is another valve that is tapered with a screwdriver slot. Remove it and flush the valve. Reinstall the tapered valve, turn in all the way and back out 2 full turns. Replace the lock screw and reassemble. Usually this is out of adjustment.

My 970 does the same thing. They tell me that there is something stuck in the 3pt valve that is under the seat. I have had it appart twice and have not found the reason. I will try again this winter. It is a pain with the snow blower on! Let me know if you find something before I do. DK
