howdy yall...new david brown owner here...just bought what i believe to be a 1971 CDB 885...runs and drives great but someone evidently removed a valve and rear remotes and left the 2 ports on top beside the 3 point control open...auction company i got it from stuck a couple spark plugs in ports to stop fluid from spraying out...anyhow the 3 point goes up when tractor starts but wont hold any weight at all and when you shut tractor down the 3 point immediately starts falling...do i just need a hose loop to get flow into controls or is something else messed up? also what type fittings does the port take? local indy tractor dealer barely knows how to spell ford so i cant get much info from them.
thanx
chuck

You should change the fluid and the filter. Also, you have the manifold there it sounds like. Why not add a remote? You could put a 70 dollar northern tool open center valve and have a cylinder remote. Great for hyd. toplink.

Thre should be a cast plate with some passages in it and a couple of 7/8 UNF threaded ports bolted on where the remote valve has been removed.
