I'm looking for a part that I figured would be easy to find... until I started looking. The one on the old generator (Auto-Lite GBM 4809) just won't come off and I've about ruined it so far trying to use pullers, heat, soaking it, and anything else I can come up with. Anyway, the pulley that is on there is 3.5" Outside Diameter, fits on a .67" shaft with a 1/8" keyway. This is a single groove pulley and the total width is about 1" including groove and collar. Any help trying to find one would be greatly appreciated, I've tried electric motor and starter rebuilder places around here and no luck so far. I could go as large as 3.75" in diameter.

Lee, I have an extra pully that may work for you. It came off a Delco-Remey, .67" shaft 1/8" keyway, the outside diameter is only about 3.25". There is a stamping of F43 on the back side. e-mail me if this may work for you. scott6143

I cannot help you with the pulley. But I do have other info. There were three GBM4809.One had a suffix A-5 and the other B-5& also B-5m.The A-5 was considered pos.Ground&other two neg.ground.The field coils draw 3.5-3.6amps@5volts.It will put out 15amps@8volts.Motoring draw is 5.6-6.7 Amps@5volts on the a-5.the other two5.8-6.9@5volts.Try an acidic penetrant if you have not yet.LEN

Thanks, The generator has the suffix of B-5.

The way the pulley currently looks, I think I'll send it with the generator as a core.

Thanks for the response.I like the original if it possible to save it.If the commutator still looks good (no low spot which would indicate a bad winding. The pulley bearing #is probably a common 3203 which comes in open or sealed on one side or sealed on both sides.LEN

I was able to buy a rebuilt original generator, but I can't get the pulley off the old one. The generator may be salvaged as a core, but that's questionable. It was packed full of dirt and rust when I opened it. Someone must make make a pulley that would fit on this thing, it's a single groove, 3.5" OD with a .67 shaft and 1/8" keyway.
