My D19 was parked for about a week and when I went to use it the right wheel was locked. It not like a brake is stuck, you can hear a clunk and the right rear will not move. I tried going backwards and it moved a little and then locked. I then pulled forwards about same distance brfore it locked again. Now there is no moving in either direction. Any ideas or sugestions?

It is probably your brakes. My D-19 had the same problem could be either brake or both. Put a new set of brakes in which is not too bad a job remove the fenders and the brake is easy to work on. After the new brakes on year later the right side started locking again, I thought it had to be simple so I would spray Electrical contact spray in the brake and it would work good. The next time it would be locked up again. Finally we pulled the brake apart and the drum had gunk and dirt stained on the drum. We shined everything up good put it back together and it has worked fine for the past year.

I'm sure it is your brake.

I origionally thought the rearend had a broken gear or a tooth loose getting between a couple of gears.

Thanks
Bob

I've had that before on other tractors. Ice chunk in the gears. Oil needs changing.

Sounds just like my D17 couple years ago. Pulled the axle apart and found the brake drum had so much wear that one of the large ball bearings was popping out of position and locking the wheel. Strongly suggest you put the axle apart and look inside at all the brake mechanisms. I kept pushing mine and cost me over $700 for parts, drum etc, that I could have probably saved had I pulled it apart when it first started acting up.
