7040 PS Question

I'm a brand new owner of a 7040 with a powershift trans. It is a 75 model. The question is when the clutch pedal is fully depressed the clutch rattles. Is it a clutch adjustment issue? The clutch pedal has an EXTREMELY light pedal to it. I pulled a 15 thousand pount fork lift with it. The brakes were set on the fork lift and it pulled it up a hill with no slippage in the trans or clutch. Is this clutch O.K. or did I make a big mistake in this purchase? Thankyou for your response.

It's transmission brake when you push clutch all the way down,a little noise is normal,Bob.

Are you sure it is the clutch making noise? The clutch is all hydraulic and when disengaged, nothing is turning in the transmission, EXCEPT the PTO drive line. PTO's in the 7-8000 series tractors can be extremely noisy when at idling speed and is considered normal.

Try bumping the engine speed up a little when you hear the noise. If the noise goes away, it is probably the PTO drive line. Also, when making the noise, step outside the cab and see if it seems louder at the rear of the tractor.
