I recently purchased a manifold gasket set for a 1953 WD tractor. It the set, there were 6 round
gaskets and 2 other gaskets that looked like the
others but they have square shapes on the end.
I can only find spots for the 6 round gaskets.
Where do the others go???

There are two types of manifolod for the WD series of tractor. The change came around the time the 45 was introduced. They put more iron in the manifold and used the square reinforcments on the end ports. The kit includes the gaskets for both types, and may work for the D-19 gas as well.

Good question! I never found a use for them either.
A possible answer is that the two fuel manifold used these gaskets with ears. To reduce part numbers, they put both
kinds in the box.

The gasket with the square ends on them go on the two ends of the manifold. You'll see that they match the shape of the manifold there. They are that way from WC's all the way through 175 gas (i.e.over 40 years worth). The two extra round ones are for 6 cylinder engines such as the D-19.
