can i use a wd45 cam gear with a 17 crank or do i need a matchset.

If you mean the gear that goes on the cam the answer is mabe as the 45 used 2 different types and the later type is the same as a 17. If the question is for the gear on the crankshaft they are the same. The camshaft w/ matching gear will freely interchange between these 2 models. Kip

thanks kip ,i think the cam gear i'am looking is the late model.what i'am doing is putting a d17 combine engine in my wd45,rebuilt d17 top to bottom , old 45 was getting tired, no oil pressure rods were trying to swap holes.
