I have a 1952 - 1954 AC D15-Deisel Industrial backhoe that is giving me nightmares. 1.) It keeps blowing the hydralic oil filter off the backhoe, it will happen when idling, using the hoe, or driving. All hoses are new so there is no flow restriction. 2.) It will slow to a crawl for no reason, on a knoll in the yard, on level ground. Engine never skips a beat, RPMs never drop, yet the tractor comes to an almost dead stop. Local tractor repair place siad the it was low on fluid or that there was water in it and it was foaming. Came back was fine, 2 weeks later and it is doing the same thing. all fluids are topped off. Any and all suggestions will be greatlly appreciated

Umm, Dan, I don't think they made industrial D15s until the 60's. If you are "blowing" the filter off, there is some kind of restriction somewhere. The slowing might be the clutch, or the shuttle clutch if it has one. Is there a lever on the left side of the operator's station that controls forward-backward motion? If there is, this is the shuttle clutch. It is kinda like an automatic trans. Send me an e-mail if you need more details.

Steve, It does have a shuttle clutch. Restrictions, I have changed all the hydralic hoses. Checked and cleaned the permanent filter, replaced the filter holder, and when to a freer flowing filter. Please give me any suggestions where you think there might be a restriction, it is driving me nuts. The slowing down, could be the clutch. One more thing that it does it slows down then almost stops crawls for a moment, then tales off for 20 to 30 feet and then does it all over again. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, I really need the help to get this thing running right.
