have a 7080 with murphy switch. it shows water temp and oil pressure gauge. when reaches a pre-
set hi or low on either it stops engine. i believe it does so with an electic wire to injection pump housing. when i turn key switch off, i do not have to push / pull fuel stop.
i like this. how does it work & can you still buy them >

Yes they are still around. Industrial, oil field, truck, ag, irrigation, construction machinery dealers may carry them. We too used them on all of our irrigation engines and found other uses for them too.

I've been around a 7080 or two over the years, and don't remember them having a Murphy setup as factory stock.

Maybe it was a serial number or option thing, or somebody just added it to protect the engine while driving an irrigation pump or whatever.

ANYHOW, they probably put an aftermarket fuel cutoff solenoid ahead the IP, in the fuel feed line, as this was "SOP" on my Murphy installations.

And, yes, Murphy is still in business.

From what I've seen, Cummins dealers typically stock the Murphy Switchgages, relays, and solenoids.

You may be able to find a cheaqper source "online", try "Googling" Murphy Switchgage.
