Could enyone tell me why I cant find this D-272 model anywhere.
Do you know if it was build in the U.S or U.K

Have I got something mixt up about the model or ???

Theese numbers are located on the tractor

serienr ECE 18088 PA*RV Tractornr. D-272 27333

could you tell me the meening off the letters/ numbers.

The D-272 is an English model. The back end is derived from the B.

The D272 was built in the Essendine factory near Stamford in Lincolnshire from about 1958 to mid 1960's. The tractor is a British design which used the C engine of 3.375" bore and running at 1600rpm (if my memory serves me) ECE being English 'C' Engine.

The transmission is similar to the four speed British 'B' unit but heavier and designed only for the three point linkage while the earlier D270 was designed to use a snap coupler as well. A live drive clutch could be fitted in the r'h half shaft.

Many D272s were fitted with the Perkins 3/144 as fitted to the Dexta.

My information on Uk serial noes does not go further than some of the D270s.
