if i drop a gleaner E motor in a wd will i have to grind the frame down to clear the governor housing?

no it will clear. the problem is the crank pulley it will not clear the rad u will need to change the pulley.

yeah but what about the frame? isn't the governor housing a little bit bigger on the combine motor?

nope. you will need to put the gov. out of the tractor engine into the combine engine, however. It has no speed regulation except high idle.

also, the oil lines will need rerouted to clear the steering u-joint, the mounting holes in the wd waterpump will need drilled out for the bigger studs of the combine engine, the wd pulley will need a keyway broached into it, and the crank will need spot drilled for the new location of the locking bolt.
