Just got a AC 1939 B model, i run it and after about 5 min. it gets hot and overflows out of the radiator overflow hose, the water pump works and thermostat is good. i also cant run 3/4 throttle in any gear or water will pour out of the overflow. i was wondering if this tractor has a closed loop pressurized cooling system? i cant figure out why i cant run it with out water coming out of the overflow.... i need help..... .. thanks

Afterthought; if you have a compression leak it will belch coolant

Is the exterior of the core plugged up with weed seeds and dirt, stoppimg the air flow?

If there is an air leak on the lower hose it will areate the coolant and make it belch coolant.

Normal collant level in my own tractor is about an inch down in the top tank.

i would flush the block out also. take out the thermostat and run it that way to see how it does. it is not a pressurized system, infact the 39 did not have a thermostat when new, that was later in the 40s.--- make sure the pump is pumping and water is flowing.-- fill with water, leave the top hose off, and startup motor, no thermostat.

Possibly the radiator is plugged up.

how full are you making the radiator. it will never stay full to the top. water expands and will blow off the excess if too full.
what does your gauge read? as long as your gauge stays in the green it is ok. Bob
