Hi just got a wd and would like to change fluids, but i can not find the engine oil capacity in the agco service manual. Should i use 30wt? Also the manual says 17 qts for trans is this a misprint? What is reccommended for trans fluid?
Thanks in advance.
jim

There is also a filler plug for the rearend. It is the plug aft of the transmission plug. The final drive units have filler plugs located on the inner face of each pan on the bottom of the drive housing. The pans have no drain plugs, just fill to overflow with gear lube as used in the transmission and rear end. If you change hydraulic fluid the drain plug opening on the bottom of the housing may be caked over with sludge, just dig out as much as possible with a bent wire. The drain plug is magnetic plug so clean it off also. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the aft housing on the hydraulic pump unit and that should be removed to drain the old fluid. The PTO housing also has a drain plug and should be removed for fluid change. Unless your transmission and rearend have gotten water in the lube I would just top them off; thats a lot of lube to buy.

Use a universal hydraulic/trans fluid for the hydraulic but use 80w 90 gear oil for the transmission which is better than using the light hy/trans fluid.

30 wt 6 quarts for the engine above 32 degrees. On the tranny fluid 17 qts is right and add one more to make 18 if you are using the PTO.
