When you put in new or clean plugs, runs good a while then slowly starts missing. Plugs apparently are fouling out, black and sooty on electrode. Switched from Champion plugs to Auto-Lite but still misses after a while. Seemed to run smoother on Auto-Lites though. What's wrong? Could it be distributor or spark plug wire related? Put new wires on a few years ago. Would a dirty or mal adjusted carburator have any affect? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day.

My friend has an HD16. He needs info on the hydraulic system and pump. Who made it? We need a contact, if you could please help us. Thank you.

In answer to the D-15 missing problem. Yes it could be dirt in the carburator or an adjustment to it that is causing the problem. This is what I would check first. You didn't say whether it smoked or not or if it burned oil so hopefully it is nothing serious.

If your tractor smokes, it will foul the plugs. Black smoke is too much fuel. Blue is burning oil. One thing that will help quite a bit is getting the engine up to temp. If it is running cooler that 180 degrees, it will foul plugs no matter what you use. I have had the best luck with AC R45's in a CA. I would avoid Champions like the plague. Some people discourage resistor plugs and suppression wires, however, since I switched to these, I have had no troubles at all and the wires even flap in the breeze. Hope this helps, Brian.
