I did a little search through the parts book! It appears that originally there was .030 shims in the center of the clutch ( 1-.005, 1-.010, and 1-.015).

The outer shim pack was 4-.015, and 3-.010 for a total of .090 on each end. I would start with these dimensions and then adjust the clutch from there.

It has been 30 years since I worked on one, but I think you take shims out of the outer end and put the same thickness in the center. This keeps the overall length of the clutch assy the same but decreases the clearance between the plates.

The center and outer shims are different lengths, so you will have to get some for the center at the very least.

Center shim part numbers follow:

.005 70231082 .010 70228075 .015 70228073
