I,ve been told that replacing the stock governor spring with one from an AC power plant (1850rpm) will wake up my 45 by letting it rev a couple hundred rpm more..... .knew of one fella that did it and the farmer he did it for said that his 45 outperformed all the neighbours...any comments???
Also.....are there any simple tricks one can do to a 45.that will make a difference pulling?
This tractor is for playing only!
Thanks!---Dave---

Generally speaking most generator set governors have a fairly limited speed adjustment range. They are designed to provide fairly close regulation with full-load at 1800 rpm, and the no-load speed generally not exceeding 1890 rpm. I haven't got any old literature so unfortunately I can't tell you what that engine was rated in its genset configuration. Should be an interesting experiment.

Regards
