I've got the engine but the necessary parts are a little tougher to come by.. But her is some info on it from a fellow over on the Allis forum.
If I could ever find me a WD45 Diesel flywheel I think I might be set... Hi Mark, I am just about finished with my conversion 262 buda in a wd-45 gaser. you will need the following,
- Wd-45D flywheel
- Wd-45D Starter
- Wd-45D Bellhousing adapter plate
- Wd-45D Radiator
- Wd-45D Hood
- D-19gas tractor governor of a 262 so you controlable governor
- you will need to cut the left frame rail for the governor and the oil filter.
-you can use the 262 buda water pump but you'll have cut about an inch of the fan blades to fit in the rad
- you need to fabricate a front/bar plate for the engine to sit on
- you will need the single front pully to have enough clearance at the steering box. - you can use the original exhaust mainfold and bend your pipe to out the same hole in the hold as the WD-45D -you can also use a WD-45D air cleaner and cross over pipe which will hook right up into the carb You need to do all of this if you want it to look like it came from the factory as a 6 cylinder gas. hope this helps, Jim Then TomMiller(IA) wrote. All I did was get the diesel parts, heated and bent the frame, machined parts to relocate the oil filter above the frame and removed the fuel pump. No cutting was done to the frame. And if you want some more detailed pics you can email me.I also used the gas air cleaner with modification and the gas radiator. So all I had to get was Diesel starter, Flywheel and Adapter plate. I had the front pulley machined.
