I have a steering box from a Allis D Grader, it says "gemmer" on the side. The gears inside are damaged and I need to replace them. Does anyone know if this box was used on any other Allis Models or have a source for these parts?
Thank You
John

I have a D grader so I am always on the lookout for doner machines and salvage yards in the event that I will need parts. A contractor near me has adapted the steering box from a Ford Bronco to his machine to give power steering. He may have a good steering box for sale. I will contact him because I am adapting power assist to my machine and I would like to find the steering arm along with the drag link from a machine with non tilt front axle to help make the conversion on my machine with tilting front axle. You could try Thill Tractor at: www.thilltractor.com
I would also like to hear from anyone who knows about any D grader doner machines.
Thanks,
Don

Local guy has on of these blades. His steering box went south. He adapted a GM steering box and got power steering as a bonus. He belt drove the pump from the engine.

Hello;

Whe I couldn't find parts of this order I had luck with using pencil rod to build up the bad part, grinding down to where it needs to be.

I hope this helps.
