my allis B starts and run great cold. Half a flip on the starter and its running fine, idles great but after you run it for an hour or so you have to play with the throttle alot to get it to start back up once it has been shut off. it will only restart if the throttle lever is in the slow position Ive cleaned the carb and checked the plugs ...it has a mag.. any suggestions Randy

Do you have to choke it and low throttle? Found mine wanted just a second of choke (engine cranking over, just a quick pul/push) to start even when warm. Suspect minor vaccum leak bit not enough to bother it running.

Could it be the condensor starting to get weak?? I've seen them start to go bad in small engines where the motor would die after it got warmed up and would not restart until cooled off. Replacing the condensor fixed that problem. Just a guess.

Two things that I have found but they dont line up exactly with the starting different between cold and hot.
If the venturi is larger that the engine should have it will not start well with the throttle opended up. Normally hot or cold.

If you have some buildup behind the power jet just below the feed tube they tend to start hard. You stated that you had cleaned the carb. In cleaning it did you remove the power jet and feed tube? With both removed did you put a small drill bit in the holes by hand and work out any build up out of the bottom?
Normally not a problem connected to hot or cold.
