I am easing into the farming game and am trying to do it without borrowing any money. I have found several small patches to plant next year to feed my livestock so I am looking for small machinary. I want to find a 60, 66, or 72 that is in workable or near workable condition. I am in Northeast Nebraska and not afraid of distance to pickup a quality, not over priced All Crop machine. Also, I would like a drill to match, again not very expensive and not requiring much work to get it going again. Will someone tell me what kind of horsepower is needed to run these implements? What model of tractor do you recommend I find to use on these? I am not trying to recreate yesterday, just get the job done.

WD? Does that have live hydrolics or are they run off of a PTO pump?

WD tractor would be perfect to run those combines. Dad ran the 60, then 66 with a WC until 1956 when he got the WD45. Live pto was a big improvement on the combine, but especially on the Roto-Baler. You should find a good 66 for several hundred dollars..
