What do you have to work with as far as tools.
I replace that pin with a hardened roll pin. I have never tried to replace a pin without pulling the cam. A roll pin is a split rolled up spring steel pin. I have to use a carbide drill to enlarge the hole slightly to take a standard pin from the hardware store. If you could find metric pins (if there is such a thing) you just might find one that would fit tight in the hole and would not need peened. You should be able to work a smaller pin in the hole in the cam as you turn in little steps and line the slot in the pump up with the hole. It would not be an easy task but would be a good story to tell if you could get it back running. Might take small hands and dampened temper.

Yea, was wondering if I should try that before giving up on it all together. The tractor is old but engine was rebuilt, new clutch and so forth when I got it. Uses no oil.

I rotated the engine around a little at a time and tried to run a wire thru the cam but no success so far laying out in the field a hunred yards from the house. Going to try a few more times because I hate giving up on anything. Plus a lazy man always finds an eaiser way :-)

Went back out and have managed to run a coat hanger up thru the cam and assume the shaft of the oil pump in about 3 minuites. Now off to find a pin or twenty to try to get in there.
