Thanks in advance for your input. I am looking to replace 4th (input shaft), sliding coupler, and third gear in a tractor I just aquired. A&I have the gears for less than half of the dealer price. My question is does anyone have experience with A&I gears? I only want to do this once. The price is very attractive and I know from experience in the automotive field that sometimes they are all made by the same vendor.

Thanks!
Bill

don't have experience with A&I, or with anybody yet. I just bought $2,300 worth of gears, bearings, seals, gaskets, etc. for my 190XT from the Agco dealer and from Yesterdays tractor. I'll let you know how it goes in a couple months.

I was talking to a neighbor yesterday and asked about their old Allis tractors. he said they had a 190 that "is pretty well ragged out" as he put it. He told me he had worked on the rear end once and the ring and pinion gears were worn sharp as razors, but he took the slack out and put it back together....when he priced just a ring and a pinion..they were $1700! No damn wonder a man can"t afford to restore some of this old iron.

He also told me they had 6 or 7 WD45"s sitting behind the barn in various states of disrepair. They worked the daylights out of them.
