The loader hyds is run off of the PTO and it stops everytime you push the clutch in. Just wondering what you all think. Ricky

A front mounted pump would make it an ideal tractor, used to drive one. Then we up-graded to a series 4 and it had a mid-mounted pump that worked better ! Dual wheel weights and loaded 18.4x28 even helped more. My 2 cents.

Use the hand clutch. Works for me. I only push the foot cluch when I need to change gears. I usually am not trying to lift when going from forward to reverse. Look for an I60 or I600. That's a D17 or D15? with shuttle transmission and heavy front axle..

We have a D17 and that's what we use it for and I would hate to think of being without it. Has been 26 years, BUT we have the 417 loader with a front mount pump. It's been a dandy.
Good Luck.

I used IHC H with same type setup - it's usable with a bit of forethought, no big deal. If you want live hydaulic on that particular tractor get a engine driven pump. Some threads in archives about mounting Char-Lynn units, some on truck powersteering pump mounting. RN

If your power director is working good it should be ok. You would be better off finding a front mounted pump when you can though.
