One more thing hntr38 you may want to invest in an IT shop manual for that tractor because to pull the axle to replace the bearing you will have to support the differential so it doesn't fall out of alignment and it discusses shimiing to load the bearing and it should have an allowable axle drop because you will have some due to loaded weight. I will make a suggestion if the tires are loaded with calcium I'd lose that. Mine is loaded because the previous owner did that and my rims are rusted completely and I'm guessing he did it to the max weight limit which didn't cover the rim inside and caused the problem. If you want or need an IT shop manual just e-mail me and I'll give you the name and phone number of someone who had several at a labor day show this year cost me $10. I'm glad to help personnaly I'd like to see a show or get together of these tractors if maybe nothing more than swap parts or stories since the company that made them is now defunct this also includes the Massey 210. Good Luck CT

I am not sure but I (think) it can be changed without pulling the axle.

I'm like you DickL according to my IT manual Fig 138 it shows where a 4 bolt flange retainer goes but they don't show the flange retainer. It looks like you just pull the wheel and hub and remove the retainer. hntr 38 just a suggestion you may want to check the axle condition if you get there for grooves because you may have to put a speedi sleeve in there or you'll be back again also you may want to watch the tire or axle when you jack it up or use a board to pry up on the tire to see how much up down play you have if your tire is sagging badly you may have more seriuos problems i.e. axle bearing problem.
Remember, there ain't nothing easy about that tractor I've been several days in and out removing the oil pan you have to remove the engine and practically dismantel it to just get the oil pan off Oh well it's a winter project. Good Luck CT
