I have a 1960 model and it has the D17 engine. Mine came with the originl parts book and I picked up reproductions of original service and operators manuals from AC aftermarket suppliers that I found on the internet. Since they used the farm tractor engine it is easy to get engine parts from AGCO and the aforementioned suppliers. Some of the drivetrain parts are available from some of the heavy equipment suppliers and salvage yards.

Most Allis Chalmers early models B,C, WD etc have cracks at the top between the cyclinders. This is NOT a problem if not big as the head gasket seals to the sleeve. I bet a lot of blocks have been replaced unnecessarly.

Model D is a gas, made 1949-1965. Somewhat over 6300 produced. What serial number do you have? Engine is a G-226.
