If it has the true one piece rivited front rims, they should be orange. If they have the 38 rims with cast centers, the centers are orange and the rims are silver.

Allis didn't seem to mind the color of the rims too much. "Authenticated" testimonies of factory original rims have been Persian Orange, Black, Silver and even a few in Green.

I've read several accounts in historical archives that AC (many other mfgs. too) didn't put too much emphasis on the color of their rims as they did getting lots of tractors out the delivery door.

Those green rims haven't passed my eyes as of yet but all the rest have.

My idea was to paint mine purple. That would be about the only way to unify the correct police with the opinion that Purple was NOT a correct color. Just about any other color is acceptable.

I was once told that silver paint wasn't very common until WWII but I don't know where I heard it.

Hi Don,

Here's a 1939B, reportedly original on the showroom floor. However, it's your tractor and you should paint it as you please.

A number of years ago someone posted a picture that was taken of the B's going thru the paint line assembled. It was a black and white photo but only one shade of color showing every square inch was being painted one color. If I remember correctly it was a photo taken in 1940. We know that color was orange however they look good with the black and silver accents.
