To this day I still have to say probably the finest combine ever built. Never had too much problem with the canvas but the occasional gate post played hell on the tailings auger pulley on the rear of the thresher!!!! Bent it into a right angle pulley every time!!!!

Model 60 combines were a good combine in that era but many a blue streak of foul language has been uttered by a frustrated Farmer as he adjusts the Elevator Canvases for the 5th time that day. Seriously I had one and spent many an hour doing just that. Adjusting the Canvas or patching it. The only weak point of the Machine and I might add that the JD 12 A suffered from the same problem. Tight in the Morning but as soon as the Dew goes away so you can start to combine the Sun heats up the Canvas and it starts to go limp and stops traveling and taking cut grain into the Machine, well, Stop and tighten it up and in the process you will get a Sun Burn if not careful or at least do a lot of Sweating and Knuckle damage. " JIMSON WEEDS" are mortal attack Weeds to an AC 60 Combine Canvas or they were then. Maybe you have a clean Field and that is not a concern, if not clean,"do not",try to run one of them thru the Combine. You will be on your way to town for a new Canvas I can assure you. Can't you find a "66" some where? So much nicer a Machine to operate.Just my 2ct's worth.JC

I have 3 machines and I like running them. They do an exceptional job. For the most info try Yazallcrop dot com. There are tons of info there.
