I found a Ac wd for sale in good condition there is only 4 dents on the whole tractor there is very little rust on the tractor it has good rims and tires. The guy that selling got it from the original owner and its never been kept out one night. it hasent ran in 10 to 15 years. Im not sure if it will turn over yet but i will check. He wants $1500 Does that sound high or about right? it a very clean tractor and has the original paint and decals

Farm auctions all over the Midwest. I doubt that I would have to drive much over an hour each way to buy one almost any weekend.

Yeah, last one I saw around here was $1500 and it had a three point hitch conversion on it, but it had a giant dent in the gas tank... But other than that, it was in good running order. I told 'em I'd pay $1000 for it, even though I didn't like how they welded up the draw bar (it was weird looking), since I wanted the three point hitch, but intended to either buy a new tank or fix that one and it was going to cost me.

Sounds pretty high to me - even if running - you don't mention NF or WF or SF, so I'm guessing NF. Unless its factory LP setup or something rare, you can buy good near original running WD NF for under $1000 most days - I just bought a running WD45 NF for $1200 - granted mine has been converted to 12V and it has mismatched rears, but it runs. If Stuck - I agree $250 or less, if free but not running a bit more but not much as it will have issues like stuck valves etc.

Hold on to that money! Price way to high for a tractor that does not run. If it ran and you heard it run that would be a different story!!

I'm in Missouri. I think theres even a picture of it in my web site. I also have a WD45 and a C at this time I would part with oh and a D-17 also. More info about me and the tractors are in my web site also. The reason it still has the plow on it was that I used it this spring to plow my food plots with and it did a good job

I see WDs that run go for $700-3000 depending on how good they are and how good the tires are. Last non running WD I picked up I payed $250 for and it had good rear tires. So for that price and you don't know if the engine is locked up. the price is way to high. Now if he got it running then it might be right in the ball park for price. Its your call but to me thats to much. Shoot you could buy a WD from me with a 2 bottom plow for $1300 and I just drove it the other day

Sounds high for a tractor that won't run. You can get running WD for $800 to $1000. Also I would be quite suspect of a 50 plus year old tractor that is said to be original owner and original paint. It is possible but that story has been told thousands of times and more often than not it IS NOT TRUE. If the tractor does not run, you have no idea the condition of the transmission or engine internally. You may get lucky, but there have been a lot of people that got quite an expensive surprise. If the tractor does turn out to be original, and if the motor isn`t in need of a crank and sleeves, and pistons and rods, and IF the transmission is good (and that is a big IF), then it could be worth $1500 to some people. I keep hearing these stories about people finding split window Corvette couples in old barns, and they only have a few miles on them, and they put in some gas and jump start them and they fire right up and are ready to hit the show or race track, on and of course they buy them for $5000. BUT I have never actually met anyone personally that such a thing has happened to. LOL It is always a friend of a friends cousin twice removed... from reality.

My grandpa has a 1953 WD that is original everything and it hasn't run in about 10 years. The 1952 WD that I own was my other grandpa's, and it is original everything... Excepting on both of them things like radiators and water pumps. Same old paint, decals, everything. I just had to replace the manifold gaskets on mine, and we're in the process of getting the other one running again.

So it's not ALWAYS a lie... But, it's a rarity.
