Help Allis Chalmer 160 What year is this????//

Could someone please tell me how to find the year that my 160 is? The serial number is 140978.

I just bought this last week and they had no idea what year? I have look everywhere I can think of and can"t seem to get the exact year it is. Thanks for you help

I worked for an Allis dealer when the 160's came out. One little strange thing about the 160 is that the bolts are all metric BUT have SAE heads. Each bolt had a 200,000 part numbers like the tractor parts had instead of the 900,000 part numbers that the standard hardware had.

The 160 was built by Renault in France and I have never seen a serial number table for them.

My book says they were made from 1971 thru 1974. It doesn"t have any Sn info.
