D17 Hydraulics?

I acquired a D17 a couple of months ago. I am not sure how the remote hydraulics are set up to work on the back. It has a single port with a knob. It has 2 metal lines leading into the port. My brother-in-law was over recently and was asking me how that worked. He was asking why there are 2 lines. Does anyone have a setup like this?

2 lines yep. One is supply or pressure which ever you want to call it the other is return. Most only are set up to use a single acting cylinder meaning power out but gravity in. That knob if turned to right way will slow or stop the flow of fluid to the add on implantment

on my d-17, push the black knob in works my front loader, out controls the 3-point hitch..
