Ken, If it is Model B or C, removing the front pins (the ones with the brake levers) are not really necessary to replace the bands. They can be put in backwards if you can get the rear pins out. I was not so lucky. I could not get a rear pin out. I tried soaking in penetrating oil, heat and a long drift pin and 3 pound hammer with no luck. The way that I finally had to resort to was to cut off the pin on each side of the lever. Then I center punched the outside end of the pin. I drilled a pilot hole (1/4 inch I think)through the outside end of the pin. Luckily it was the outside part of the pin that was rusted tight. The inside part came out easily. Then I drilled a 1/2 inch hole through the pin. Since the pin is 5/8 inch, I was left with a thin metal tube inside the brake pin hole. Then I took my trusty Dremel tool with a metal cutting burr and cut 3 grooves in the tube down to the final drive casting. A couple of times I went a little too deep, but I was desperate. After I put in new pins, you can't see the grooves anyway. Then a took a 1/4 in punch and knocked out each of the 3 sections of the drilled pin. It was drastic action, but it worked. To keep it from happening again, I coated each end of the pins with antisieze compound. Good Luck
