Well we just bought a WD its our first allis but we have 19 other tractors so we're not stupid about things. What are the good and bad sides to a WD and also what is the stock cubic inches of a WD bore? stroke? horsepower? please fill us in Thanks

Get a good set of manuals for it. There is absolutely nothing on that tractor that can't be fixed. Very easy to find and attach a three point hitch. Hand clutch is wet. Lasts forever. Adjustment is by removal of shim. Steering on narrow version sometimes gets loose. If you replace key in slot at the bottom of vertical shaft going down to front wheels in time that will fix that. Zenith carb needle valve sometimes sticks in up (closed) position and doesn't let fuel into carb float bowl. Mine has a whine in 4th gear unless txmn is topped off.

AC WD; Rugged, crude, powerful for their size, probably one of the most durable tractors I've ever been around. I grew up running one on Dad's farm. When he had the engine overhauled, the dealership mechanic put a "high altitude" kit in it. This upped the pto hp from around 34 to the neighborhood of high 40's. This tractor had tires loaded, and rear wheel weights. It's power and pulling capabalities were amazing for a tractor it's size. Was very uncomfortable to operate for an extended period of time and took one strong man and two boys to steer it. All in all, a tough, rugged, crude brute.

There is no bad side, my guess is that your other 19 off brand tractors will be for sale soon and you`ll be looking for one of each of the AC models.

I have run into more bad WD's than good ones.
Heck they even offered a factory block cover plate because they were prone to crack. They were a powerful tractor alright, but don't try to bail off of one because you are trapped in there if it goes to roll. The other thing I didn't like was the fact that they are light in the back end. I used one with n AC loader and about flipped it over. If I ever regain my senses I should get rid of my WD, WD45, D15 and that M crawler too.

There is only one major problem I have with the WD series, the seat. They made an incredible tractor but they seemed to have forgot about the seat until the night before it was to be released. It is amazing they sold as well as they did. I love my WD-45, but if I had to sit on it all day I would be looking for a different machine.

Lots of power compared to size and weight. What I like best about them is the hand clutch lets you have live hydraulics and pto. They are also very easy to adapt a 3-point system to. When everything is tuned up and in good shape they have a very responsive governor as well.

201 cid, 4" bore and stroke, 34.63 rated belt hp per Neb. Test. Make sure there is no water in the PTO housing. It will crack when froze. After many years of service the springs in the hydraulic pump may break and get into a valve and cause the lift to lock up or the pump to over heat. This happened to me. It didn't ruin anything but I put all new springs in the pump after I disassembled it and cleaned it out. I also rebuilt the shift tower and overhauled the engine once. That's about all I have done to it after many many hours and years of service. Good tractors.

i did,t know there was any bad sides to a wd or wd45 tractor, we allways had wd45,s . and i thank they are easy to work on and plenty of power. i hope the tractor works out for you.

Around 34HP, unless it has a WD45 engine in it and then it would be around 43HP. To tell if its a WD45 engine you look on the right hand side of the block. If it has a bolt on plate then its a WD engine if it doesn't have that plate its a WD45 engine. Either engine will bolt right in and over the years you never know what has been done to them
