Has anyone here on the forum tried to modify brush hog blades so they have an uplift effect? My lawn mower blade has a turned up spoiler or air foil on the rear of each cutting portion of the blade. It also has three(3) holes drilled just ahead of the spoiler and it works pretty well. Seems like it should work on larger blades also..... .looking forward to your comments..... ..... ...RP

My machine is a Bush Hog 307 pull type. I did not know "uplift" blades were available for it. Will look into just buying some. Thanks for the feedback..... ..... .RP

My LandPride field mower has uplift blades....and I also mow in a clockwise fashion overlapping the previous wheel track. The debris does a good job of picking up the laid down grass and recutting it and I wind up with a nice looking field (even after 5 days)....I have many satisfied customers! I've seen a lot of hack jobs.....you just have to think things thru!

What BC says plus the blades on a brush hog should not be welded on in any way shape or form. If you did weld on them you will take out the temper and or cause them to brake and when one brakes it can/will fly like a missle. Guess how I know I had one brake one time and to this day have no idea where it went but I know I sure wouldn't have wanted to be in its way

thats why they make ''finish' mowers...brush hog is for ruff cut and heavy cutting...that flip up in the back will be gone brfore u can say boo.
