Is there a trick when removing brake handles to replace brake bands or are they just stuck? Thanks for any help.

Hey rtw The lever shaft will drive right out if you wedge a crow bar or something against the band toggle to hold it solid. Some of course are stuck tighter than others, use a heavy hammer and some gentle persuasion and they will drive out. Good luck, Harry

Yes, the handle needs to be pressed/driven out of the cast piece that holds the band because the handle has a keyed shaft. You have to remove the fender bracket and it might be a good idea to remove the tire and wheel as well to give you some room to work.
