I am working on a 1935 WC tractor with a mag. It is the OLD Fairbank Morris with the plug wires comming out the top. I sent it out and had it rebuilt. It works, but it is very hard to crank start. I went into it and tightened the impaulse but that didn't help much. I have put on a newer mag, and the tractor will start with one pull of the crank. Please send advice before my arm falls off from trying to start this fine tractor.

Try Brian's mags. He seems to know alot about them. I've seen him post from time to time. Sorry I don't know how to reach him. Good luck, Brian W.

You said the Mag was rebuilt are you sure,it sounds like the new mag may have a better spark then the mag you said was rebuilt or the older mag is not in time.Personaly I would start by taking the older mag apart to see if a new coil was installed and pay close attention to see that the mag is timed, also if it was rebuilt like you said it should have a new coil in it plus points and condenser.How much did you pay and who rebuilt your mag e-mail me please with this info.May be that you got a bad rebuild.
