Does anyone know a part # or size of the upper bushing that fits between the steering tube and steering shaft for my '44 model c?? I have the Gemmar style box. The O.D of the tude below the steering wheel is 1.5 inches.

I used a tough plastic for mine. Turned it in the lathe for a gentle press fit into the tube and a close sliding fit for the steering shaft. The zerk fitting screws into the bushing and prevent turning. Nice and tight and will last for a lot of years.

its not a critical application. i have made some from a steel pipe, have bought a brass sleeve at hardware store, some guys make them from wood-- i just slide it in the tube a couple inches and center punch the outside so it cant slide. dont have to fit the steering shaft snug, leave .020-,030 clearance and add grease.

Yes, the AGCO series has 70 added to the beginning of the original AC numbers.

My local Agco parts man said the number is 'obselete'. Any idea where I can find this bushing???

You can make one out of a piece of hard wood. Correct police wont be taking the steering wheel off to check if you have a factory made bushing. It will last as long as you or thru your grand children if you pass the tractor down. Also gives you something to do other than spend money to rebuild a pride project.
