Did Allis Chalmers or an aftermarket source sell a higher ratio set of steering gears to allow easier steering without having a power steering unit on a WD or 45? A fellow told me today he had a wide front WD_45 with different ratio steering gears and it was almost as good as power steering.

Also, would members of this forum recommend buying a wide front WD without power steering?

My uncle had always said his WC had a worm gear he had bought from TSC many years ago. His WC had a narrow front but steered easily. He's gone now so I can't get any more info.

I've had two WD's with wide fronts and no power steering. I currently have a WD-45 with a wide front and no power steering. All three steer(ed) easily with no problems.
