D17 Oil Leak

I have a '58 D17 with a slight oil leak at the back of the engine where it joins the bell housing. Nothing dramatic, just enought to leave a small puddle on the shed floor. Runs fine otherwise (oil pressure is bit low) - no smoke or other symptoms. Drips more when engine is hot than when it is cold.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

If it is the rear main, does that mean taking the engine out to replace the seal? I've never done anything quite that involved.

If its the rear main yep you have to pull the engine and also take the flywheel off

Actually, I had the same symptoms with my D17 and thought it was the main seal, but upon closer inpection, I had a leaking valve cover gasket; look at the rear of the valve cover and behind and below it - any fresh oil on anything?

Rear main is probalby bad or going bad
