Does anyone know of where to get a 12 volt starter to replace the 6 volt starter? Is there some conversion kit someone sells to upgrade these 6 volt positive ground to 12 volt negative ground systems?

Since the B is intended to start easily by hand crank, a properly maintained one should start easily with a six volt system as it was designed. Unless you live in the frozen tundra, with subzero temperatures, I'd put the money into six volt battery cables and, if necessary, a starter rebuild. My B and my pickup both start on six volts with no trouble.

Here's a picture of an alternator wired for a tractor by Bob. Hal
Ps; Napa has a 12 volt coil with a builtin ballast resistor P/1C14SBN.

You do not need to change the starter. A 6 volt starter will work just fine and last for years on 12 volts. As a matter of fact I have 20-30 tractors and none of them have 12 volt starters on them and all but one or 2 are 12 volt systems. Its easy to switch one over all you need is a ballast resister or 12 volt coil an alternator and haveing it wired up correctly
